Damon Albarn Dismisses Adele Feud Reports: "It's Not Even True"

Damon Albarn Dismisses Adele Feud Reports: "It's Not Even True"

Back in September, Damon Albarn said he'd worked with Adele on her new album, 25. He called her "very insecure" and said the work was "middle of the road," noting that he didn't think his contributions would make the final cut. (They didn't.) Then, Adele responded, saying, "it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him." She also said, "I'm the least-insecure person I know."

Now, in an interview with Time Out London, Albarn has claimed the whole thing was blown out of proportion.

"It's not even true," he said, of any feud with Adele. "It's amazing how people will run with stuff that has no credence whatsoever and turn it into something and then watch the reaction."

Discussing the public's reaction, he said: "I was number five on Twitter… I mean, how pathetic is that?"

He also told Time Out that he isn't web savvy—when he read an interview with himself on The Guardian, he thought the article's comments were part of the text.

"People were not kind; it was… enlightening," he said.

Asked about the status of Blur, Albarn said that the band's recently concluded tour for The Magic Whip was "a nice way to pause it."
