David Bowie planned to put out "a long list of unscheduled music releases" before he died, a source has told Newsweek. Releases compiling archival material "divided into eras" is forthcoming, with the first expected to be out before the end of next year.
In addition, a cast album for Lazarus, the off-Broadway play Bowie co-wrote, is in the works. As The Guardian reports, the recording session was scheduled for the day after Bowie died.
Newsweek also reports that Bowie did not write a memoir, contrary to rumors that have been spreading for decades. Another book project, Bowie:Object, will also not be completed.
Bowie's last album, Blackstar, was released on his birthday, two days before his death.
