Stereolab's Tim Gane Announces Cavern of Anti-Matter Album Featuring Bradford Cox, Shares "Melody in High Feedback Tones"

Stereolab's Tim Gane has a Berlin-based trio called Cavern of Anti-Matter, composed of Gane, Joe Dilworth (Th’ Faith Healers/Stereolab), and Holger Zapf. They've announced their proper debut album, which is called Void Beats / Invocation Trex. It's out February 19 via Duophonic. The album features Deerhunter's Bradford Cox, Spacemen 3's Sonic Boom, and Mouse on Mars' Jan St. Werner.  Listen to "Melody in High Feedback Tones" above.

Gane said of the project in a statement:

Cavern Of Anti-Matter are spectrum addicts, setting up tiny rhythmic cells and expanding on them in certain ways, splitting the melody and stretching out. The melodic movement is much slower due to the lack of words. At the moment, the Cavern sound is more what I want to do.

Void Beats / Invocation Trex:

01 tardis cymbals
02 blowing my nose under close observation
03 insect fear
04 melody in high feedback tones
05 hi-hats bring the hiss
06 liquid gate
07 pantechnicon
08 black glass actions
09 planetary folklore
10 echolalia
11 void beat
12 zone null
