Jamie Woon has announced his new album Making Time, the followup to 2011's Mirrorwriting. It's out November 6 on PMR. Check out the artwork above, and scroll down for a session performance of new track "Message". Another album track, "Thunder", got its premiere on Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio 1 show over the weekend; hear it at 4m50s.
Guests on Making Time include Robin Hannibal (on the recently released "Sharpness"), Willy Mason on "Celebration", and Royce Wood Junior on "Lament". Co-production throughout comes from Lexxx.
Discussing the 4-year gap since Mirrorwriting in a press release, Woon says:
Each project takes as long as it takes,” says Jamie. “It's quite common for me to start a song and then sit on it for 2 years before I finish it. I used to feel a lot of guilt about how long things take, but I’ve made peace with that. Part of the reason this record took so long is that I wanted to feel like a new person, releasing a new record.
